MK Awards 2009 – Reëls, voorwaardes en algemene inligting:

Om seker te maak, dat jou stem tel vir MK se mees gesogte video’s van 2009, maak seker jy ken die reëls en voorwaardes:
• Die video's wat genomineer is, is deur die MK paneel bepaal.
• Slegs video's wat uitgereik is tussen 1 Oktober 2007 en 30 September 2008 is in ag geneem.
• Alle nominasies word bekend gemaak op Studio1, 11 Desember 2008 om 19:30.
• Die stemmery vir die MK Awards vind plaas tussen 11 Desember 2008 (20:00) tot die 13 Februarie 2009 (00:00).
• Die MK Award wenners word bekend gemaak op die 12de Maart 2009 om 20:00 in die finale Awards show.
• Onthou jou stemme is nie geldig as jy nie die regte steminstruksies volg nie.
• Jy kan stem op die volgende maniere:
1. Mxit: Beperking van 1 stem per kategorie, per dag
2. Webwerf: www.mktv.co.za – Beperking van 1 stem per kategorie per dag
3. SMS: 33676 (R1,50) – Beperking van 5 stemme per kategorie per dag

• Jy kan stem, as jy nie:

1. ‘n Kunstenaar se salaries betaal of sy CD uitreik nie
2. ‘n Kunstenaar se dagboek hou nie

MK Awards 2009 – Rules, regulations and general information:

To ensure that your favourite artist/band walks away with MK’s most prestigious award, make sure that you familiarize yourself with the rules, regulations and general information regarding the MK Awards 2009:
• All nominated video’s for the MK Awards 2009 have been compiled and determined by the MK music video selection panel.
• Only video’s that have been submitted during the period of 1 October 2007 till 30 September 2008 were taken into account.
• The nominations will be announced on Studio1, 11 December, 19:30.
• The voting period for the MK Awards is from the 11th December 2008 (20:00) until 13 February 2009 (00:00).

• The MK Awards will be awarded on 12 March 2009 at 20:00 during the final award show on MK, Channel 324.
• Please note that your vote will not count if you didn’t follow proper voting instructions.
• You can vote via the following means:
o Mxit: The limit is 1 vote per category per day
o Website: www.mktv.co.za. The limit is 1 vote per category per day
o SMS: 33676 (R1,50). The limit is 5 votes per category per day

• You can vote, if you don’t:
o Distribute an artist’s/band’s album
o Keep the diary of an artist/band
o Pay an artist’s/band’s salary

When is M-Net’s Open Time closing? M-Net’s Open Time closes on 1 April 2007. The final Open Time broadcast is on Saturday 31 March.

When is Open Time coming to an end? Why? On the 31st of March. This decision was made by the The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) last year.

Why is Open Time closing? Last year ICASA (The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) ruled in favour of closing M-Net's Open Time window.

Will M-Net’s schedule between 17:00 and 19:00 change when Open Time closes? Earlier this year, M-Net introduced an hour of daily drama between 18:00 and 19:00, with Egoli at 18:00 and Binnelanders at 18:30. This slot has been performing extremely well and will continue after Open Time closes. (Also note: Open Time viewers who still want to catch Binnelanders and Egoli now have various options – see point 4) There will changes to programming between 17:00 and 18:00. While Open Time was still running, M-Net used this slot as a promotional window for programmes on its niche channels on DStv channels, like kykNET and GO. As the majority of viewers will already have access to these shows, M-Net will in future give viewers who missed the previous evening’s hour-long prime time series (screened at either 19:00 or 19:30) the opportunity to catch up on all the drama or comedy. The only exception is Thursday evenings. On Thursdays M-Net will screen specials between 17:00 and 18:00. The 17:00 schedule for April 2007: Mondays - Stand-Off Tuesdays - ER season 12 Wednesdays - Smallville season 6 Thursdays - Specials Fridays - Shark season 1 SuperSport fills the 17:00 – 19:00 slot on Saturdays. On Sundays Everwood is screened at 17:00 and the hit game show Deal or No Deal at 18:00.
